HYC Laser Fleet News       Races This Coming Week: Thursday 6pm (5pm rig) Sunday 10am (9:00am rig)

June 12, 2018 Hi All, Last week we had great weather, great attendance, and great racing!!!  Both Thursday and Sunday had fine sailing conditions with interesting breezes and sunshine.   The season is really getting going now and it's great to have everyone back out there! Thursday night was the debut of fleet coaching, with Dave Penfield piloting a RIB around the racecourse helping fleet sailors get tuned up.  Many positive comments were received about how helpful it was to sailors of all skill levels.  Dave also commented on how much he learned just watching others sail.  There's nothing like having another pair of eyes seeing what you're doing and providing feedback!  We plan to have coaching as often as we can and would like to encourage everyone to volunteer for a day.  It's a great way to learn yourself, while at the same time helping others.  Pretty awesome!!! If interested, please respond with a Sunday or Thursday date this summer that you'd like to help your sailing peers. Sailing conditions for this week are looking pretty awesome, so come on down!!! Our fleet sails on Lewis Bay in beautiful Hyannis, MA from June through October.  We typically launch from the HYC off Ocean Avenue (please observe town parking rules) or at the Yarmouth Sailing Center off New Hampshire Ave (signup required) and sail on the east side of Lewis Bay.
